First Trimester Preparation

Recommended between 4-18 weeks gestation. (90 mins)

This session is an exciting introduction to your pregnancy. Its an opportunity to understand your options when it comes to your ongoing pregnancy care.

We’ll learn about:

  • Pregnancy Care Models

  • Birthing Options (hospital, homebirth etc)

  • Morning sickness

  • Hormonal changes

  • Fatigue

  • Pelvic floor

  • Your first GP appointment

  • Your booking in appointment with care provider

  • Routine antenatal blood tests

  • First trimester screening

Second Trimester Foundations

Recommended between 18-30 weeks gestation (90 mins)

This session lays the foundation for your pregnancy knowledge and preparation for labour and birth planning.

We’ll learn about:

  • Pregnancy Care Models

  • Allied Health supports

  • Informed consent

  • Pelvic Floor

  • Antenatal Expressing

  • Early labour

  • When to call your care provider

  • Current birth expectations/wishes

  • Optimal fetal position

  • Induction of labour (if necessary)

  • Safe sleeping in pregnancy

  • Safer Care Victoria recommendations

    And much more!

Labour and Birth Education

Recommended between 30-40+ weeks gestation. (120 mins)

This session will complete your knowledge of what to expect with labour and birth of your baby. All options within the birth space are discussed, with an aim to allow you to make informed decisions regarding your birthing experience.

We’ll learn about:

  • Stages of labour

  • Labouring positions

  • Optimal birth space creation

  • Your support person

  • Natural/medicinal pain relief options

  • Waters breaking

  • Baby monitoring

  • Perineum/pushing

  • Assisted birth/Cesarean birth

  • ‘The Golden Hour’

  • Your placenta

  • Creating your own birth pathway

Postpartum Support

Recommended up to 6 weeks post birth (75 mins)

We are still here to support you after you have met your new bundle of joy. We would love to hear from you and support you through the early transition into motherhood.

We’ll cover:

  • Birth experience and debrief

  • Postpartum recovery

  • Mental health and supports

  • Allied Health

  • Newborn behaviour and cues

  • The new family unit

  • ‘The Village’

  • Breastfeeding support

  • SIDS

  • Community supports (MCHN, ABA, GP, PANDA)
